Pre-Kindergarten Daycare Center Buffalo, NY
Kinder-Readiness [4 years old]
In this group, children are prepared for Kindergarten. Classroom time is balanced between child-initiated and teacher-initiated activities.
Language, reading and writing skills are developed through "Circle Time" activities (conversation, songs and poems), writing experience stories, and by labeling items in the classroom for children to identify. Also, concepts involving spatial relationships, size, shape and quantity are developed. Thinking skills are increased through problem solving and open-ended activities
Time spent running, jumping, balancing and riding bikes develops large muscles. Small muscle skills include writing first names, buttoning, zipping and lacing shoes and other items.
Socially, children are involved in small groups where they can share and take turns. They are encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity, independence and the ability to get along with others.
